10th Anniversary of the International Space Station – ISS

On November 2, 2000, the Expedition 1 crew arrived at what was then a fledgling outpost, 200 miles above Earth. The first residents were NASA astronaut Bill Shepherd and RKA cosmonauts Sergei Krikalev and Yuri Gidzenko. Since then 196 people have lived worked and visited the outpost.

A decade later, we are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of continuous human presence on the International Space Station.

This remarkable achievement was made possible by thousands of engineers, scientists and technicians working for NASA, RKA, ESA, CSA and all international partners involved in this unique and unprecedented program. For the past decade, around the clock every day and night, human beings have lived and worked aboard the International Space Station. It represents one of the most amazing engineering feats in human history.

Thanks to all of the men and women who made this important milestone.

15 nations one space station - together is the future!
